Blindvlek.nl is a Dutch news aggregator that shows, per news story, which media outlets cover it and which do not. I built the platform end-to-end: a data pipeline across more than 100 sources (refreshed every five minutes), AI clustering and neutral headline generation, classification by media group and political leaning, and signals such as blind spots, "who stayed silent" and headlines rewritten after publication. Stack includes Python (FastAPI), SQLite, embeddings/LLM classification, static publishing with PHP endpoints, Mollie payment integration and Cloudflare Turnstile. I've had my driver's license (B, for a passenger car) since I was 18 years old. I also have my own car to drive to work every day.

Knowledge Of Languages
Dutch - Primary
Dutch is the language I have spoken since the day I was born. I am proficient in this language of course.
I've been speaking this all my life.
English - Secondary
I see English as my second spoken language. The pronunciation of my words is sounding more American than British in English. This language has few secrets for me anymore and I therefore obtain it for 95%. But of course there are always secrets, within any language!

Spanish
Since moving to Spain in 2026 I have been learning Spanish every day. Basic level and improving: shopping, dealing with authorities and conversations in the neighbourhood are done in Spanish.

German - Additional
My German is less great in speech than my English, but I can understand German very well. I was also allowed to stand on a German exhibition a number of times.
German is not the greatest language I speak...
Hardware Knowledge
Hewlett-Packard Servers
Hewlett-Packard servers were the first servers I came into contact with. Especially with the well-known Proliant ML350 and DL380 servers. The most recent HP server that I installed was a tenth-generation model from HP (also known as Gen10).

Dell Servers
I have less experience with this brand of servers than Hewlett-Packard, and I am really referring to the internal hardware of the casing. Of course you are in the right place for the support on every type of server, regardless of brand! I simply have three years of experience with Dell brand servers.

Network Cabling (CAT / UTP)
Making CAT / UTP networking cables, the patching of networking cables from patch boxes or 19 Inch switches and other cable management. This should be no problem for me at all! Since the Horizon College I have been working with network devices and networking cables. My knowledge of WiFi is also excellent!

Synology NAS Systems (With DSM)
Synology NAS systems equipped with the handy DSM software have absolutely no secrets for me anymore. I have been using those systems since the first appearance of these storage devices for networks on the market. I also own a Synology NAS in a RAID storage configuration.

Printers & Print Solutions
From the installation and management of small to very large printers and from the old school continuous paper printers to the current Hewlett-Packard Color LaserJet series, scanners and even the configuration of HP JetDirect print servers. Here are a number of brands with which I have experience: HP, Brother, Canon, Epson, Xerox, Ricoh and Konica Minolta.

Raspberry Pi & Other Single Board Computers
Single Board Computers (SBCs) such as Raspberry Pi or, for example, Odroid are also in good hands with me. I have worked with them since the very first day these SBCs came onto the market.

Tablets and phones equipped with Android and Apple IOS also have few secrets for me anymore. Configuring and setting up is no problem. My personal preference? Android!

APC UPS Emergency power supplies
The installation of an emergency power supply by means of a so-called UPS is absolutely necessary for your company's servers. This device ensures that servers shutdown gracefully and on time in the event of a power failure. APC (from Schneider Electric) is therefore the brand of choice for me. I have often had these emergency power devices in my hands and have managed them.

Cisco Routers, Modems & Switches
I have already came early into contact with the Cisco brand in my studies at the Horizon College. I have also obtained the CCNA certificate from Cisco there. Routers, modems and switches, you can leave these devices to me!

Palo Alto Firewalls
I have managed Palo Alto firewalls for various customers for over four years. It is certainly not my strongest point, as the Palo Alto devices are very extensive. I attended a one-day course on them.

Linksys Network Devices
Installation and management of Linksys network devices is, like other network devices, absolutely no issue for me. Already during my studies at the Horizon College I did various tests with the devices of this brand.

Like the brand Linksys above, the Netgear brand has very few secrets for me. With years of knowledge and experience in the field.

I have gained knowledge of Ubiquiti Networks products since I became an entrepreneur at Uw PC Draait Door. The beautiful round white Access Points are ideal for every company!

Installation, migration, management and configuration of workstations or notebooks with Microsoft Windows is what I have already done a lot. Windows 10 / 11 therefore has few secrets left for me anymore.

Installation, configuration, migration and management of e-mail servers with Microsoft Exchange (Exchange 2003 through 2019 and Exchange Online in Microsoft 365) is no problem for me either.

Installing and managing servers with VMware ESXi virtualization software. The terms such as virtualization, high availability, vSphere, vCenter and VCSA do not sound strange to me.

Proxmox VE
Virtualisation with Proxmox VE: clusters, VMs and LXC containers, backups to Synology and migrations from VMware ESXi. My own home lab in Spain runs entirely on it, including an AI assistant that works 24/7 on production environments.

Beautiful open-source firewall solution based on FreeBSD. Installation, configuration and management are part of my skill set.

OpenVPN
Setting up secure VPN servers with the OpenVPN software is also within my knowledge and field.

Palo Alto GlobalProtect
With the Palo Alto GlobalProtect software I set up VPN connections to networks. Special software to be able to let users connect through Palo Alto firewalls to the local network (if set up right of course). It is similar like for instance OpenVPN client software.

Veritas Backup Exec
I have actually been dealing with the Veritas Backup Exec software since my work at CBG Connect. Backing up tapes and hard disks in RAID is therefore no problem for me with this software. Your data remains safe!

Linux Operating Systems
I have had several years of experience with the Linux OS, especially in setting up and managing virtual Linux and VPS / VPN servers with distributions such as CentOS, Ubuntu and Debian. Nowadays mainly AlmaLinux, Debian and Ubuntu: installation, hardening, WHM/cPanel servers, backups and monitoring, largely automated.

With this operating system I already worked as a child and the passion for IT ran through my veins early on. From writing batch scripts to installing software, devices and other software.

LLM integrations via the APIs of Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (GPT) and Google (Gemini), prompt engineering, AI agents for server administration and AI content pipelines for web shops. No hype: working implementations that measurably save time or generate revenue.

Python
Automation, data pipelines and tooling in Python (FastAPI, SQLite, scraping, AI integrations). Blindvlek.nl, a news platform with over 100 sources, runs on it end-to-end.

I have worked with Excel for years and it was part of my training. For me it is the perfect tool for calculations and for creating lists and schedules!

Microsoft Outlook is the mail client software for me! This software therefore has very few secrets in terms of configuration, installation and management.

Microsoft Word
In addition to the entire Microsoft Office family, this package no longer holds any secrets. There is simply no better word processor!

MicroStar
MicroStar is an administration software for both server and workstation developed by a small company from Heiloo in The Netherlands. For many years I did the installation, had the management over it and made backups of it. I also booked the incoming invoices once in a while. Occasionally I made an invoice or packing slip with this software for our company.

Broadsoft
Broadsoft is often used in telephone environments from the Dutch telecomprovider KPN. I have managed these systems throughout the years several times.

HIPIN
With the HIPIN software you can connect both Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Outlook and your CRM application to your Hosted Telephony environment. I have also been in charge of this. HIPIN is also been used by Royal Dutch telecomprovider KPN.

FL Studio
Producing music in my home studio has been a passion and hobby of mine for many years. I think I have been making music for over 20 years now. From reggaeton to moombahton and urban. I find it a wonderful escape from the daily grind! My music is released under the names NDROID and JNGH on Spotify.

Knowledge Of The Web & Web Apps
HTML
HTML is the language I already learned when I was studying at the Werenfridus. Following on from Horizon College, I again received a training in HTML. Therefore I am completely capable of 95% of the HTML language. I have used this language in a lot of websites too. You are of course never too old to learn the remaining 5%! Of course languages like these will always get updated in the future.

CSS
Besides HTML, CSS is the language I have used to adjust the design of websites with. I don't want to say that I know everything by heart, because there are always new developments, but I have more than 85% knowledge of CSS.

Next.js & TypeScript
Full-stack web applications with Next.js and TypeScript: UwWoord.nl (AI SaaS with Mollie subscriptions and PWA) and OVERBIED.nl were built entirely with them and run on my own hosting with staged deploys and automatic rollback.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
While working at Ambidex Promotions I took a course in SEO and SEA for Google. Over the years I have deepened my knowledge and kept learning, especially around the question: "How do you rank higher on Google?". In 2026 that includes technical SEO: Core Web Vitals, structured data (JSON-LD), Search Console and optimisation for AI search results (AI Overviews, llms.txt).

Search Engine Advertising (SEA)
I'm talking about Google Ads, or earlier Google AdWords. For this I have followed a course at Ambidex Promotions. Together with SEO, this is the ultimate combination to get higher in the ranking on Google.

Google Tools
To be found better on the internet, you cannot ignore Google's tools. Google Search Console (formerly Webmaster Tools) for submitting sitemaps / robots.txt, Google Places, Google Analytics, Google PageSpeed, Google My Business, Google reCAPTCHA and generating API keys for these services are all familiar to me. Nowadays also Google Merchant Center, Tag Manager, Analytics 4 and PageSpeed Insights.

SSL Certificates / HTTPS
Secure web shops are a must, and have been a matter of course for years. I have secured various websites with SSL (the well-known padlock, or HTTPS) many times. Installing and managing SSL certificates is therefore no problem at all.

DNS, Turnstile (bot protection without captcha hassle), caching and WAF rules for my own projects and for customers.

MailChimp & GDPR
For me, MailChimp is the go-to online solution for preparing and designing online newsletters per mail. I learned to design newsletters with MailChimp from my time working at Ambidex Promotions, with the artwork that I created in Photoshop myself. I also know a lot about the GDPR Act therefore (Dutch: AVG).

Social Media Content
I have written social media content mostly via Facebook and Instagram. Over the years I have managed various business pages on Facebook and Instagram.

VPS & Managed Hosting
I can tell you everything about hosting on your own VPS. For years I rented several bare, clean Linux VPS (CentOS, nowadays AlmaLinux) and cPanel servers at TransIP. Among other things, I set up cPanel and WHM and made sure the server ran securely, including e-mail. CSF firewall solutions, greylisting of spam, APC and OPcache caching, running different PHP versions, editing php.ini, creating e-mail addresses and even editing SQL tables with phpMyAdmin, plus installing and configuring CMS systems.
